Snow....

Finally snow came to Charlottesville. It will disappear as fast as it landed, I fear, but the winter wonderland is here for now so I wanted to share it with you. It is so soft outside.  We at the Barn Swallow are thinking of winter offerings to our friends/visitors who come to the gallery. We are having our most highly anticipated concert, happening in a few days...

On Saturday, February 7 at 6:00, we will be putting on a catered dinner/concert featuring songwriter and vocalist, Helen Horal. She is, maybe, my most favorite vocalist to date. I am swept away by her writing and depth of her voice. Please come hear this talent before she gets discovered big-time...which is only a matter of time...

Tickets are $20. To reserve a chair, call:434-979-4884.

As winter months approach....

As the winter months approach, I am challenged to think always of new lines of work. I have always been interested in lighting so I am working on some new ideas that will be wall pieces. I finally have made friends with my wood stove. It actually is becoming a constant companion as the days stay as frigid as the nights...so I am dreaming up some ideas that would be serving pieces that could sit on a tray made of clay in front of the fire...sake-sets, new tea bowls, new teapots, and chowder bowls.

At The Barn Swallow we are creating a wall of tiny lights that perch on limbs that stretch from one side of the gallery to the other. Christmas time at the Barn is magical. We welcome you when you can visit. Janice
